Da im Laufe der letzten Jahre die Möglichkeit, auch erwachsene und ältere Patienten kieferorthopädisch zu behandeln, in unserer Gesellschaft zunehmend bekannt geworden ist, steigt die Anzahl dieser Patienten in unseren Praxen stetig. Plant man als Kieferorthopäde Behandlungen bei solchen Patienten, wird man teilweise auf vielfältige zahnmedizinische Probleme stoßen. Parodontitische Erkrankungen sind ebenso häufiger anzutreffen, wie auch bereits bestehende konservierende, endodontische und prothetische Versorgungen. Aus diesem Grunde ist es außerordentlich wichtig, alle geplanten Maßnahmen auf der Grundlage eines standardisierten Behandlungskonzeptes durchzuführen. Ein Beitrag von Dr. Hatto Loidl.
