Im Rahmen des AAO-Kongresses wurde eine Studie präsentiert, die dentoskelettale Veränderungen in Verbindung mit der Herbst-Apparatur dreidimensional untersuchte. 50 pubertäre skelettale Klasse II-Patienten wurden dabei mithilfe virtueller 3D-Modelle bewertet, die aus zu Therapiebeginn sowie -ende erstellten DVT-Aufnahmen generiert wurden.
