The laser has been used in the field of oral surgery for a wide range of indications. In this article, we focus on its surgical uses. The success of the surgical treatment of lesions in the oral cavity depends greatly on knowledge of the aetiology and histology of the lesion. There are pathologies that can be treated with laser, such as cancer sores and hyperkeratosis. Others, like candidiasis, cannot be treated with laser.
